Organization policy

Admin settings that apply to everyone — who may share habits, and apps and websites blocked across the whole organization.

last updated

Admins set two organization-wide rules from avatar menu → your organization. Both apply to every member.

Who can share habits

  • Everyone (default): any member can share a habit. Making one org-wide is still admins only.
  • Admins only: members keep their habits to themselves; admins can share.
  • No one: sharing is off.

Changing this never un-shares anything. Habits already shared stay shared until somebody sets them back to private, which is always allowed whatever the policy says. See Shared & org-wide habits.

Blocked for everyone

Add apps and websites your organization wants Plainwork to leave alone. On every member's machine Plainwork then:

  • records nothing in them,
  • suggests no automations from them,
  • refuses any habit step that touches them.

These are exactly the personal blocks every member can set — the difference is that an org-wide block can't be removed by a member. It shows in their Settings → Blocked apps with a padlock and no remove button. Only an admin can lift it, here.

Blocks are cached on each machine, so they keep applying with the network down or the app signed out. A member who belongs to two organizations gets both organizations' blocks.

Removing a block here lifts it everywhere on the members' next sync. Anything a member blocked for themselves is untouched.
