Manifesto

Why we built
Plainwork

A big promise was given to us: AI would help us be more productive and it would take over the things we don’t like doing.

Instead, it’s become hundreds of agents that we have to teach and babysit, when they work. If they break, we have to spend time trying to fix it.

We’re still doing the boring parts of work, while AI is generating images and creating more work for us to review.

The boring repetitive part should belong to the AI, and the part we enjoy should stay with us.

I spent years automating my habits, at home and at work. Even after AI, I was still automating how my AI tools would work together. All of this while I saw how others wasted years of their lives on copy-paste work.

There’s gotta be a better way, I said. So I built Plainwork.

Plainwork watches how you work, finds the patterns, and handles them for you. No setup. No babysitting. Just the parts of your job you actually want to do. No training data, no third parties. Private by design, not by policy.
