Inviting and managing members
Invite teammates to your organization, accept an invitation, change roles, and remove members without losing their work.

Admins manage membership from avatar menu → your organization.
Invite someone
- Type their email address.
- Choose Team member or Admin. See roles.
- Click Invite.
They get an email with a download link. The invitation is bound to that address: only someone signed in with it can accept.
Pending invitations are listed under the form. Click the ✕ to revoke one. Inviting an address that already has a pending invitation is refused — revoke the first one to change its role.
Accepting an invitation
Sign in to the desktop app with the invited address. A banner appears at the top of the home screen naming the organization and who invited you. Choose Join or Decline.
Joining is additive: you keep your personal workspace and every habit in it, and you gain access to what the new organization shares. Any org-wide habits arrive as drafts.
Invitations expire after 14 days.
Changing a role
Open the ⋮ menu next to a member and choose Make admin or Make team member. The owner's role can't be changed, and an organization always keeps at least one admin.
Removing someone
Open the ⋮ menu and choose Remove from organization. Before anything happens, Plainwork asks what to do with the habits they own here — separately for the two kinds, because they usually deserve different answers:
- Their personal habits: ones they created here that nobody else can see.
- Their shared habits: ones they shared with the team, which your team may depend on. This includes habits they created in their own workspace and shared into yours.
For each, choose:
- Delete them: the habits are deleted and disappear from every device, including theirs.
- Transfer them to another member: that person becomes the owner and can edit and run them. Anything shared stays shared, now attributed to them.
Copies teammates already added are their own habits and are never touched either way, and neither is the departing member's run history — runs are always per-person.
If they have no habits here, removal is a single confirmation.
Not the same as "Invite people"
Invite people in the avatar menu invites someone to Plainwork, not to your organization. See Inviting people.
